Our outdoor fitness sessions are structured to provide an all round fitness in all participants. We do not expect you to be fit before you come. That’s what we are here for. We will encourage “couch potatoes” to move around and do things they haven’t tried for years. We know that you may not be fit when you come but we will gradually enable you to reach the fitness you desire without unnecessary strain.
Come along to a session. You’ll find that JogFit is not like trying to get fit in a gym. One of the great things about JogFit taking place in parks and other open spaces is that there are no doors. You can see everyone and everything as you approach. Isn’t it an awful feeling to have to go through doors when you are worried about what is on the other side? Many of us suffer from the horror of the closed door and wondering about the reception on the other side.
Meet with us in the park and see how much sense of freedom it gives when tackling the various tasks that are set by the fitness trainers. It’s great being in the beautiful outdoors at all times of year. We are not restricted by walls and air that is all hot and sweaty and probably germ laden. We are out in the fresh air of nature.
So what do you need to come along to a fitness session? Comfortable clothing that allows you to move around without rubbing (no jeans). Be prepared to get a bit dirty, especially if it has been raining. A pair of trainers to keep your feet stable – no need to go for the highest priced street cred. You will probably need to be wrapped up a bit during the winter months with jacket, hat and gloves. Bring along some warm outer clothing to put on when you finish so as not to get chilled. Always have with you plenty of water to drink.
You will find that once you have been with us for a few weeks, attendance will become a habit. This is good because it means that you find yourself taking part in sessions without having to force yourself to come. It’s not like a gym where all you are looking forward to is hard slog. With JogFit you will meet up with like minded people who will be pleased to see you and compare notes on how well you are all achieving. JogFit is very much a togetherness event.
Unlike the “boot camp” style we do not ask you to wear coloured tops denoting your fitness level. This doesn’t mean that you are all treated the same as far as exercise goes. You are asked to put yourselves into groups A, B or C and so on. The trainers will help you to choose and they also keep an eye open for each person as an individual. The good thing about the lack of coloured tops is that nobody outside the group can tell one person from another – so no embarrassment.
